Gossiplist Book of the Week: King of Cons by Aaron Tonken
This book is written by a former Hollywood fundraiser who reveals what A List through C List actors and politicians demand in order to appear at charity functions. The asshole factor amongst this group is astonishingly high. Here's a brief summary of some celebrity antics.
The Bad:
Cher (spoiled beyond belief)
Sharon Stone (nasty and stubborn)
Joan Collins (fantastically greedy)
Zsa Zsa Gabor (all around pathetic; jealous of Eva)
David Schwimmer (denied a kid a special visit/event
because the $12,000 fee raised did not match "what
I am worth") Remember--this was for charity!
Roseanne Barr (despicable as a human being in every
conceiveable way, basically)
Milton Berle (off color in the wrong places)
Jack Nicholson (offered name but not presence)
Ann Margaret (belatedly reneged on promised appearance because "she didn't feel like it")
The Good:
Kelsey Grammer (never asked for anything--amazing!)
Jackie Collins (paid her own tab)
Burt Reynolds (good sport in difficult situation)
