American Idol Contestant In Jail With No Bail

Three years ago, American Idol contestant Jessica Sierra was on top of the world. She had a shot at winning the contest and even if she did not, she had generated enough attention to gain the interest of other possibly interested music companies.

In her American Idol interview she stated that her goals were:
My main goal in life is to succeed at whatever I put my heart into. I want to become the best I can be, and know that no matter where life takes me I will be happy. I know that as long as I have done my best, and in some way achieved the goals I have set before me, then I have succeeded.

I wonder if that is still true for Jessica. Earlier this year, she was arrested for battery (she hit a man in the head with a glass at a Tampa nightclub in April) and possession of cocaine. She walked after that offense straight into the arms of VH1 and their tv show, Rehab With Dr Drew. Last weekend, she was arrested for
disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating parole. Jessica appeared before the judge today and bond was not offered to her. She will have to stay in jail until trial. She is facing 11 years for violating parole.

Was Jessica on the right path after her first brush with the law? Yes and no. She was actually working at the bar where she was arrested (Full Moon Saloon in Tampa, Florida). Score one, she had a job. Unfortunately, she also had cocaine with her. Oooops. She did attend rehab after her first arrest. But, it was actually a reality show with some 'rehab' elements like Dr Drew thrown in. Strike two. Overall, Jessica is very likely an unbalanced young person in need of real help and not 'reality' tv.

Garrison Defense Blaming The Victim

Lane Garrison is a small time TV actor who is on trial for vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving. A 17 year old passenger in his car was killed on the way to the store to buy more alcohol. His lawyer, Harold Braun, is now blaming the dead victim by saying,'He put himself in the car with a drunk driver.'

As Gossiplist.com disclosed months ago, the 17 yar old only got in the car to protect the other two passenger, female friends of his, who decided to get in the car with Lane, even though he was clearly wasted. The girls were very taken with Lane's 'tv star' status.

Lane has also had his younger sister write a letter begging the judge for leniency. I genuinely doubt certain aspects of her letter, where she claims that Lane paid her father and mother's rent at certain times during her youth plus other bills and that he flew back home to Dallas from Los Angeles several times to see her. If he was struggling as an actor in Los Angeles (and it is very expensive to live in California), there is no way he had cash to spare. She is trying to make him look like a hero.

Growing Up Gotti star arrested for drugs possession

Frank Agnello, who starred with his mother and two brothers on the reality TV show Growing Up Gotti, was arrested earlier this month on drug charges, police said.

Agnello, 16, was found with marijuana, OxyContin and morphine pills when authorities pulled him over on a Long Island road for failing to heed a stop sign, Suffolk County police Lt. Donato Mignone said Monday.

The teen, who was driving a rented sport-utility vehicle, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. He could face up to a year in prison if convicted.

Agnello's attorney, Adam Mandelbaum, said no drugs were found on Agnello during the Nov. 10 arrest in Dix Hills.

Frank is the youngest son of Victoria Gotti.

Lindsay Lohan Gets Arrested For Drug Possession and DUI

Lindsay Lohan was arrested last night after chasing her ex-assistant with her car. The assistant had quit just hours before.

Lindsay and the mother of the assistant got out their respective cars and started arguing. The mom called the police and Lindsay got popped. The Santa Monica police booked her on charges of drunken driving and cocaine. The cocaine was found in Lindsey's pocket.

Tom Sizemore May Get Prison Time

Looks like Tom Sizemore may be headed back to the big house!! Los Angeles prosecutors said Thursday they will ask a judge to revoke Tom Sizemore's probation and impose a sentence of 16 months in prison.

The 45-year-old actor has had a string of legal problems, the most recent coming this month, when he was arrested outside a hotel where police found two bags of suspected methamphetamine and smoking pipes in his car.

A globe-trotting Atlanta lawyer with a dangerous strain of tuberculosis was allowed back into the U.S. by a border inspector who disregarded a computer warning to stop him and don protective gear, officials said Thursday. His name is Andrew Speaker and that is his photo above.

Apparently, Andrew found out while in Italy that his TB diagnosis was worse than initially thought and was advised by doctors to turn himself over to Italian medical authorities to keep the illness from spreading. In his own words, Andrew said he felt 'fine' and kept on trucking all over Europe with his new wife leaving his TB cooties everywhere. What a great show of ethics for a lawyer!!

Superslut Lindsay Lohan Finally Popped For Drugs

Lindsay Lohan has really fucked up this time. This is worse than not showing up for work on the film 'Georgia Rule'. She crashed her car, got arrested, and the cops found some cocaine in the car. Way to go, Lindsay. Hollywood Rag has photos of the incident.

I knew Lana Clarkson

The Phil Spector murder trial is raging on and tidbits about the victim in the case, Lana Clarkson, are emerging:

Through a restaurant I worked at I met lana, who was a regular and we got to be friendly over the years she came in. I would kid her about how she dressed for auditions which she later told me she appreciated because she sometimes felt silly having to dress up like she did. She was the sweetest person I ever met and I absolutely do not think she would kill herself. As hard as it was for her sometimes not working she always was pleasant. Of course I don't know how she dealt with it personally but I just can't see her doing it.

There are also rumors that Lana dabbled in escorting. The LA Times writes:

Brian Bonsall now!

First it was drunk driving, now its a domestic battery arrest for Brian Bonsall! Brian Bonsall was the cute, youngest member of the Keaten family on the NBC TV show 'Family Ties'.

Bonsall was arrested Wednesday after his girlfriend told police he poured an alcoholic drink on her face while she slept, put her in a choke hold and threw her onto a bed when she tried to leave, authorities said.

Famewhore Judge Finally Rules In Anna Nicole Smith Case

Famewhore Florida Judge Larry Seidlin has finally ruled in the Anna Nicole Smith case after conducting his own two week reality show (Seidlin wants his own tv show and has sent in audition tapes to networks before). Oddly, he has not given her body to the closest adult relative as Florida law clearly states, but has awarded the body to Anna's infant daughter and her guardian. Seidlin also declinded to order a paternity test to determine baby DanniLynn's father. Nice derelection of duty, Judge Seidlin, I genuinely hope you never get your own tv show.

Britney Breaks The Law Again

Skantastic former superstar Britney Spears breaks the law again with one of her sons. This time it is baby Jayden James and he is facing forward in the carseat in this photo at TMZ. In New York, a baby has to be at least one year old or 22 pounds to face forward in a carseat in a moving car. Good job, yet again, Britney!!

It looks like blogger Perez Hilton has another lawsuit on his hands. This time it it Reichen (the former partner of singer Lance Bass) who wants to sue Perez for claiming that Reichen had used crystal meth.

Mine will start with Mr. Lavendeira's allegations (that MUST be proven) that I have ever once used the drug "crystal meth", based on a picture he has posted and an accusation connected to it, that I have engaged in "Illegal activity" that would result in my eyes being dilated...this photo was taken on a night when I attended the Dixie Chicks concert in Los Angeles and allowing press to photograph me after receiving eye-dilation medication at Dr. Kawesch's office, Laser Eye Surgeon, in West Los Angeles, who can testify to that treatment on that night at 4:30pm to evaluate my eyes for future surgery. 30 Days later, I received LASIK surgery with the same surgeon. If you are the person who took that photo, please verify that Mr. Lavendeira did not STEAL that photo, since he has a history of NOT PAYING for the work of others. I know it makes me less exciting in the realm of his website, but I don't snort meth.

Among other things, he will have to prove that I "went home with" or "made out with" and went anywhere but home on the night of 13 Dec 2006. Because this is a blatant lie with the purpose of lessening my credibility as a person, he MUST prove his allegations. I'm sure the friends that I drove home with that evening will make this tough on Mr. Lavendeira. Also the testimony of the person I was allegedly with, who left me at the clug, will hurt his case as well. Those statements MUST be answered to and PAID for by Mr. Lavendeira.

Yes, I'm really over this person and his directed attacks on me and other hard-working people. I'm sorry we invited Mr. Lavendeira to my book signing event in Los Angeles and extended a warm welcome to him upon his arrival. We tried to make friends with him but this clearly didn't get through to him. It would be tough for only me to call this person out on his lies, but now that I have a group along with me, it makes more sense. Soon we will no longer have to waste our time responding to the lies and fabricated stories that this person makes up so we can concentrate on our work.

Some ask why I am explaining myself, but it's time to stop the ridiculousness of this person and his website. I know it lowers myself to his level to explain his allegations, but everyone MUST see that this person is a fraud. The best part about it is that the celebrities who are joining us do not feel that this is low at all. I trust them because I know what they have gone through. It's simple.

Mr. Lavendeira, showing his class, is also attacking my supposed desired "sexual position" on his website's rebuttle to my blog in a clear display of his intelligence and defensive debating PROWESS. Besides the laughter that this has generated in our office, because no one in the world seems to care about this except you, a blatant pervert, Mr. Lavendeira, I don't discriminate in that department, either way. I love it all. :-) We thought this knowledge, from the horse's mouth, would make you happy, sir, and fulfilled on all fronts...and comfort you somewhat before we all begin to fight you and your lies. Yes, that's as low as I can take myself in my own defense, I know, but we all have to keep a sense of humor in challenging times.

Jeff Timmons Finally Sentenced

Jeff Timmons formerly of '98 Degrees' has finally been sentenced on his drunk driving charges.

Timmons was sentenced to a year of probation as part of a plea agreement on charges the singer drove recklessly and refused to sign a citation in April. Attorneys for Timmons entered a plea of no contest Wednesday. He was found guilty of the two misdemeanors and must undergo treatment for alcohol and substance abuse.

Dog Chapman and co-stars set free on bail in Hawaii

TV reality star Duane “Dog” Chapman and two co-stars accused of illegal detention and conspiracy in the bounty hunters' capture of a cosmetics company heir in Mexico posted bail and were released Friday.

Chapman was released on $300,000 bail after spending the night in a federal detention center and his co-stars on the popular A&E show “Dog The Bounty Hunter” were freed on $100,000 bail each.

Country singer Mindy McCready pleads guilty

McCready admitted yesterday to driving on a revoked license and
leaving the state without permission from her probation officer.

She is to be sentenced August 22nd.

McCready was on probation for fraudulently obtaining a painkiller.

Just last week she was found not guilty of driving under the
influence.

Ex-Village People singer pleads no contest

Former Village People frontman Victor Willis plans to accept a plea deal on drug and weapons charges tomorrow in hopes of securing drug rehabilitation rather than prison time, said his publicist.

A judge announced last week Willis has two possibilities when sentenced if he agrees to plead no contest: either a two-year state prison term or a three-year, eight-month sentence with county jail time and rehabilitation. The catch is Judge Mark Forcum will not choose until after Willis agrees to the plea and a probation report is compiled prior to sentencing. A previous report was “very negative,” Forcum said.

'Survivor' Winner Sentenced to 51 Months

Richard Hatch, who won $1 million in the debut season of "Survivor," was sentenced Tuesday to 51 months in prison for failing to pay income taxes on his reality TV prize and other earnings.

Hatch, 45, was convicted in January. The charges carried a maximum of 13 years in prison.

George Michael Arrested Again

80s singer George Michael was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs yesterday after being found slumped in his car.

Michael, 42, was taken into custody at Hyde Park Corner, central London just before 2am on Sunday morning after a call from a member of the public. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing class C drugs before being bailed to return to a police station next month. The category includes such drugs as cannabis and GHB, also known as liquid ecstasy. A spokesman for the Metropolitan police said Michael had also initially been arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive, but was de-arrested after a doctor examined him at a central London police station.

Actor Brad Renfro ordered into drug treatment

Actor Brad Renfro, former child star in such films as "The Client" and "Tom and Huck," was ordered into drug treatment program on Thursday after he pleaded guilty to charges of trying to buy heroin.

Renfro, 23, whose arrest in a skid-row drug sweep by undercover police was captured in a front-page picture of the Los Angeles Times, also was placed on three years probation, according to a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

As a condition of his probation, Renfro must submit to random drug tests, spokeswoman Jane Robison said, adding that the actor is slated for another court appearance on March 6.

Renfro was one of 14 people arrested in a December 22 police sting operation aimed at cracking down on narcotics trafficking in the skid row section of Los Angeles.

Richard Hatch Headed For Jail

Survivor winner Richard Hatch was recently found guilty of the two counts of tax evasion he faced, as well as guilty of filing a false tax return.

According to the AP, Hatch was taken into custody after the verdict was read, as “U.S. District Judge Ernest Torres said he was a potential flight risk.” In addition, the AP says the charges he was convicted on “carry a maximum of 13 years in prison,” but the judge “said he expected a sentence of between 33 months and 41 months, but it could be longer because prosecutors accuse Hatch of committing perjury during his testimony.”

Rapper Mystikal gets one year for tax evasion

Grammy-nominated rapper Mystikal has been sentenced to a year in prison for trying to cheat the federal government out of $271,000 in taxes.

U.S. District Judge James Brady said Thursday that he would allow Mystikal, whose real name is Michael L. Tyler, to serve the sentence at the same time he serves a state sentence for sexual battery against his former hairstylist.

Renfro Hearing Delayed as Actor Seeks Rehab Help

The arraignment hearing of Brad Renfro has been rescheduled as the actor attempts to kick his heroin habit in rehab. The Ghost World star was due to appear in court on Friday to face drug possession charges, but his case will now be heard later this month. Attorney Richard Kaplan, who is representing the actor, 23, told the court Renfro "looks forward to doing whatever is necessary to take care of his personal and legal issues." Renfro was arrested on December 22 for attempting to buy heroin from an undercover Los Angeles Police Department officer.

In 2002, Renfro spent 90 days in rehab after being arrested.

Jail Time For Michelle Rodriguez ?

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office delivered a troubling message for
Lost star Michelle Rodriguez on Thursday, after the actress was arrested on
suspicion of drunk driving in Honolulu on Dec. 1, her second such arrest in
two years.

"We believe Ms. Rodriguez violated the terms of her probation," said office
spokesman Frank Mateljan. "She now potentially faces up to 18 months in
county jail."

Gary Glitter Arrested

Gary Glitter was today arrested at an airport in Vietnam as he tried to board a flight to Bangkok. The 61-year-old, real name Paul Francis Gadd, was wanted by police over allegations of "obscene acts with a child". He fled his rented home in Vietnam a week ago amid allegations over his relationships with two underage girls.

Radio Host Poisons Wife

Radio host James Keown poisoned his wife Julie slowly by adding antifreeze to her Gatorade. Overtime, she became ill and eventually died. James had taken out a $250,000 life insurance policy on his wife and after her death, immediately became a target of suspicion. He moved back to his native Missouri from Massachussetts, where the couple had been living (he had convinced his wife to move there so he could attend Harvard Business School, but in reality he only enrolled in the university's extension school for one class and flunked it). A week or so ago, he was
arrested while on the air.

James' did have a blog, but unfortunately, it has been deleted (part of it is available in the Google cache). The Boston Herald has published some highly entertaining excerpts from it. The excerpts reveal that James was enjoying his newly single status to the nth degree. James' sister, Shawna, has set up her own blog where people can post comments now that her brother's blog has been deleted. Read some of the comments currently there; all are very supportive.

James' situation has also touched others in the blogsphere. One person who worked with James nearly a decade ago and was listed in Keown's blogroll, was contacted by the Boston Herald (much to his surprise as he had no contact with Keown in recent years). A woman who worked with Keown in the Missouri press corp has
written a long entry expressing her shock and belief in her former comrade's innocense.

James allegedly told one friend how he planned to spend the insurance money from his wife's death.

“I am going to take Julie’s insurance money, buy a BMW Z4 convertible, go back to Kansas City and build a house. With what money is left over, I am going to start a foundation in Julie’s name and run it for a few years.'

Scott Peterson Gets Death Penalty

Scott Peterson received the death penalty today. In Califonia, prisoners have the choice between lethal inject or the gas chamber. He will be transported to San Quentin (where all California Death Row inmates are held) with 48 hours but not during rush hour traffic because officials are afraid that someone might take a shot at him.

In addition to getting the death penalty, Scott Peterson was also ordered to pay funeral expenses plus an additional $5,000.

Scott's defense cost his family over 1 million dollars. In order to pay it, they placed a second mortage on their home.

Robert Blake Acquited of Murdering His Wife

Robert Blake, probably best known to TV viewers as 'Barretta', was acquited today of murdering his wife, Bonny Lee Bakely. When the verdict was announced, he rested his head on the defense table and sobbed. Outside, Blake cut off this electronic ankle bracelet (he was out on bail but was under house arrest) using a knife from someone in the crowd. Bitchy queen Ryan Seacrest has forced a gay porn version of "American Idol" to change its look.
"Celebrity Justice" said Seacrest sent his lawyer to talk to the lawyer for "American Porn Star," which is the same as American Idol only the contestants are not singing, they're doing gay porn.
The host's last name was even pronounced Seacrest, though his first name was Jason.
Seacrest's lawyer persuaded the porn producers to change the look of their show so no one would think it had anything to do with American Idol. Gee Ryan, I don't think it would have been a big deal if you'd kept your mouth shut!

Dave Matthews Band driver pleads guilty

A bus driver for the Dave Matthews Band pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges stemming from the dumping of 800 pounds of human waste from his vehicle's septic tank onto a sightseeing boat on the Chicago River. The refuse landed on 100 people on the boat.

Today was one of the worst days I've ever had at work. Allow me to explain.

I work as deck crew for a sightseeing boat company in Chicago that does architecture tours on the river downtown. I had already worked two 15 hour days Friday and Saturday and intentionally showed up a half hour late this morning to try and squeeze another half hour of sleep in (I knew what had to be done in the morning on the boatthat I was on, because I left it eight hours previous, and knew how long setup would take). Needless to say, I was already ready to go home.

Then came the 1 o'clock architecture ride. 117 ticketed passengers on board plus an extra four who showed up on Michigan Avenue for a boat ride that actually launches out of Navy-fucking-Pier, whom we were nice enough to let on for free.

We're puttering down the river, we turn north at the junction and proceed, as we do on every tour, beneath the Kinzie Street bridge. Now, the bridges all have grated decking. You can look up and see the sky through them. In the Captain's pre-tour safety announcements it's usually mentioned one should not look up with your mouth open in wonder, since a car might go by and you might get an unpleasant "Taste of Chicago" ha ha ha. (The Taste of Chicago is an annual summer food festival held in Grant Park.)

Now, that really never actually ever happens. Not that I've ever seen. Today, of course, had to be different.

I'm relaxed in the pilot house with a crossword (since during the rides themselves I just sit while the people get their tour from the volunteer docent, and the crossword kept me awake) when I hear this splattering noise, like a heavy rain, and a few scattered yelps. I get up, go outside, and look out over the passengers seated on the deck.

The passengers on the left side are all wet, and appear horrified. Something behind the boat is raining through the bridge into the river.
"Shit," I think, "some idiot Streets & San employee just went over with a street sweeper and soaked our passengers."
Then I notice the passengers appear a lot more horrified than that.

"Oh my god!"
"It got in my mouth!"
"It's urine!"

The smell hits me. It's old urine.

Ah, shit.

I look up onto the bridge and see a black coach bus, like the kinds old ladies take group vacations on, disappearing past the buildings. They had gone over the bridge, and being ignorant fucks probably decided they could skip a pisstank pumpout by just opening it into the river, through the bridge. Talk about the wrong place at the wrong time.

I said to the captain, "Turn the boat around. Now."

Now, being the assigned deck crew on this ride, I have to handle this. The captain has to drive. Needless to say, I'm not entirely sure how to handle 60 people who all need to be sanitized and given antibiotic shots at once. We train to handle people falling into the water, heat stroke, shit like that, not a torrential downpour of human waste beneath Kinzie street.

All I can do at this point is hold my breath and give away every paper towel and work rag on the boat, and wait until I have a clear idea of exactly what to tell them as a whole. Some passengers are of course visibly distressed. Women have hair matted to their face, peoples clothing is sticking to them, babies are crying. I'm close to being sick all over the deck, and really worried that someone else is going to, because I know as soon as someone does it's just going to be a domino wave of barfing that will sweep across the boat like a sickly sweet stomach shockwave.

Nobody did. Thank God for small favors (you know, the ones He thinks make up for shit like this).

These people, to put it bluntly, were very pissed off. Now I also get to be the company PR face, so like a good little worker bee I try and balance being as helpful and understanding and apologetic as I can, with helping to maintain the balance of the Bureaucratic Tower of Shit looming above me.

The captain's already on the cell phone doing damage control. I'm to tell everyone they are, of course, granted full refunds, and anybody that needs anything extra on top of it because of what happened will get it. I'm specifically told to mention that while we can't call ten ambulances down because the situation is not life threatening, a lot of them are going to want to visit a hospital sometime soon. What I don't mention is some of the shit these people will now have to worry about, ranging from tetanus to hepatitis. The best we can do for them is pay for a cab to Northwestern Hospital for anyone who needs it.

Then come the usual asshats.

"We want a representative on the dock, to take names of everyone involved in this."
"How is all this stuff of mine going to be replaced? There's no way I'm going to pay for this."
"You coming out here and telling us that we can have refunds and cab fare to a hospital is downright fucking insulting. I want a bus for these people."
( You want a bus? Excuse me, then, Spartacus, while I pull one out of my ass. )
"Refunds? A lot of us have jewelry on that's now soaked in urine."
( I wasn't aware gold could be used to soak up liquids. )
"I have a flight to catch at five, and now I've got urine in my phone, in my clothes."
You have three fucking dots on your sleeve, and let me remind you this is not our fault. It's not as if the captian saw that shit pouring down and drove under it anyway.

The problem, of course, was that little bridge joke. It's funny only if it doesn't happen. Now that they've all got that "Taste of Chicago", people have the idea in their heads this shit happens all the time and that we know about it, and are therefore to be held accountable for what is in reality a rather fucked up act of God (see above).

We're back at the dock, and an army of urine-soaked people march on the ticket office. Great, they're gone and now they're Diane's problem.

"Well," I thought, "The dock guys are gonna help clean up the boat, and I get to go home early."

Nope. No such luck. As the five of us, including the bartender on the boat, are scrubbing off all 104 chairs and the deck, The captain reappears.

"Who's been telling people there's no 3 o'clock?"
"Not I," says I, then I stop in mid scrub. "Wait ... there's a 3 o'clock?"
"Yeah, they want to send us back out on the 3, and then the 5 after it."
Ah, shit.

"Are you kidding me? My shoes and pants legs are soaked in piss and boat soap and they want us to turn the boat around in a half hour for another god damned ride?"
"Yep, 'fraid so."

The Bureaucratic Tower of Shit, I think, is defined as people at the top having no idea what's actually going on at the bottom, and vice versa.

A call is placed to my father, who now has to make a forty minute drive into the city with a change of clothes for me. (He didn't make it by 3, and I had to spend the next 90 minutes trapped on the boat in fucking nasty clothes thanks to the main office and their money.)

Meantime, though, as I scrub my way to the back end (stern), I'm basically running the hose directly into the all-weather speaker to try and get rid of the smell back there. It won't go away. I then look up at the American flag flying off the pole on the stern.

Ah, shit. It's soaked too.

We cut it down, I take it and make sure I fold it proper, with the triangles and shit, and then of course we smuggle it around past the pilot house where the passengers won't see us placing it into a trash bag to deal with later.

Cleanup continues, until a guy on the dock wants to talk to me. I've had people coming up constantly and asking things, what do I do about this, where do I go for that, and I just point at the ticket office and say "Talk to them."

Before I can do that to him he says, "Hi. I'm a photographer for the Chicago Tribune."

Ah, shit.

Company policy is that all press stuff has to be directed to our main office. The main office is out in Palatine and nobody there knows a god damned thing about what goes on on the dock anyway besides how much money we make them.

He adds, "I've been getting some good shots of you all cleaning up the boat, and I thought it was touching the way you still folded the flag properly. Can I get your name?"
