Had her big chance for movie stardom when Flashdance made her the most famous girl in the world at 19 or 20 -- but she didn't realize how rare that kind of hit was, and so she passed on dozens of movie offers to go back to school. Did that dull Frankenstein thing with Sting (excuse you, rude) and never ever had anywhere near the career momentum again. Privately I'm told she was surprised, though she'll say publicly she didn't want to be an actress, looks like that's what she's done for twenty years and more since college.
